Making a big design statement, the new Vitz features softly contoured lines punctuated by bold swept-back headlights, teardrop rear light clusters and a distinctive chrome grille. Unique detailing on range-topping XR models lifts the aesthetic by adding front fog lamps, glossy smoked 15-inch alloys as well as colour-matched door handles and exterior mirrors. The new Vitz X-Cite model ups the styling ante by introducing X-Citing orange accents garnishing the front fog lamps, while also adorning the rear spoiler. It’s further echoed in the unique X-Cite badging and the flash of orange brushing the protective grey side moulding which is unique to this model.

Top Of The Class

Thanks to its twin-injection, three-cylinder 1.0-litre engine, the new Vitz delivers best-in-class fuel consumption: 4,4 L per 100km for the manual and 4,2 L/100 km for the AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). AMT combines all the convenience of an auto with the optimised fuel consumption of a manual. Reinforcing the fuel-saving and eco credentials of both models is the standard stop-start feature which automatically switches the engine off when you’re stationary and seamlessly starts it up again as you move off.

PUTTING YOU FIRST

The spacious interior boasts a variety of in-cabin storage including multiple cupholders and a class-leading 295 litres boot. Power steering (tilt-adjustable*) enhances your drive, while air-conditioning, remote central locking*, power windows/mirrors*, steering wheel controls and rear Park Distance Control (PDC) guarantee convenience. On the connectivity front, XR models come standard with a four-speaker sound system as part of the integrated infotainment featuring Bluetooth and USB functionality. Apple Carplay and Android Auto make navigating a breeze.

SAFETY FIRST

Isn’t it comforting to know you’re driving one of the most solidly built and engineered small cars on the road today? ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) with EBD (Electronic Brake Force Distribution) is standard as is VSC (Vehicle Stability Control). The AMT model further benefits from HAC (Hill-Assist Control) which prevents you from rolling back when you stop on an incline. On the passive safety list there’s driver and passenger airbags, pretensioners with force limiters for the front seatbelts, child locks and ISOFIX enablement. XR models are kitted with an immobiliser and integrated alarm.
